Operation Bless the Children started in 1996 when God put a desire in pastor Elias’s heart to bless children in the border cities of Mexico with Unites States.
It started with 200 Children where we gave toys and fed them sandwiches. Year by year, the number of children would increase. There was a year where we had up to 8,000 people in an open area.
The first years when they started doing massive events, we would do what was called “Boxes of Hope” where we would use shoe boxes where we would put, school supplies, hygiene items and toys. For each family we would give a bag of groceries that would last for 15 days.
In 2014, was a difficult year. What we thought was going to be the last year of Operation Bless the Children, was nothing close. God totally changed the strategy of the events. Starting this year the name changed to ”Hope Invasion” on which instead of doing massive events and have 10% -20% of the people receiving Jesus in their hearts, we would start doing smaller events and to our surprise, the number of people receiving Jesus in their hearts, increased drastically to 70% - 80%.
Another new thing that was done starting 2014 was HOPE BACKPACKS. Instead of doing shoeboxes, we started using backpacks as the container to have school supplies, Hygiene items, Toys, Candy and Clothes.
This was a great change and which strategy is still being used till this date.
